The Firm
Tim Balcom is a former Prosecutor who received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from CSU Sacramento. In 1997 Tim graduated from McGeorge School of Law where he received honors in Trial Advocacy.
Tim served as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army Military Police Corp before attending college. He was able to draw on that experience when he began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in the Placer County District Attorney's Office. In his three year stint as a prosecutor, Tim gained invaluable courtroom experience, handling hundreds or cases and dozens of misdemeanor and felony trials. Tim joined the law firm of Leupp, Wachob & Woodall in 2001, where began his Criminal Defense career handling a high number cases and dozens of jury trials.
Tim continued his passion for trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at McGeorge School of Law, coaching the Trial Advocacy Team from 1997 to 2002. In 2000, his team was National Champion: Most Professional Team and in 1999 his team was voted National First Runner Up: Trial Advocacy.
After serving several years on Board of Directors of the Placer County Bar Association, Tim was voted President of that organization for the 2005 term.
